Formation

What is Formation?

Formation aims to support and enrich our spiritual lives, helping us to grow in faith and live as active disciples of Jesus. It is essential for fostering a deeper understanding of the  Catholic faith and encouraging personal growth.
Purpose and Goals:
  1. Ongoing Conversion: Encouraging us to develop a personal relationship with Jesus and live a life of holiness.
  2. Active Membership: Promoting active participation in the Christian community, helping us to recognize our role within the Church.
  3. Discipleship in Mission: Preparing us to share the message of Christ and engage in  evangelization and social justice efforts.

Content and Approach:  Formation programs are designed to be comprehensive and systematic, addressing our unique needs and interests. They often include:
  • Scripture Study: Engaging with the Bible to deepen understanding of faith and its application in daily life.
  • Prayer and Reflection: Encouraging personal and communal prayer practices to foster spiritual  growth.
  • Community Engagement: Opportunities for service and involvement in parish life, helping us  live out our faith in action.
In summary, formation in the Catholic Church is a comprehensive effort to nurture our spiritual lives and encourage us to grow in faith, engage with our community, and live as active disciples of Christ.
