“The Son of God became man for our salvation but only in Mary and through Mary.” – S Louis de Montfort
-
Our parish is launching our “Marian Mission” to enable us all – tailored to our time constraints – to devote ourselves to our Blessed Mother Mary because as St Louis de Montfort said: Mary is the safest, easiest, shortest and most perfect way of approaching Jesus, we never give more honour to Jesus than when we honour his Mother.”
-
“From Mary, we learn to trust even when all hope seems gone. From Mary we learn to love Christ, her Son. Learn from her to be always faithful, to trust that God’s Word to you will be fulfilled, and that nothing is impossible with God.” St Pope John Paul II
-
“Mary is the model of the Church, and her role in the history of salvation is unique. She is the one who brings us closer to Jesus and intercedes for us.” Pope Francis
-
“Mary is the Mother of our hope. She is the one who leads us to her Son, Jesus, and helps us to understand the depth of His love and the gift of salvation.” Pope Benedict
There are many ways in which we can devote ourselves to Mary, including:

Founded in Rome in 1917 by St Maximilian Kolbe,“M.I. members live out their mission through their ordinary activities and in the various sectors of society in which they are immersed. Everywhere they are called to the faithful and joyful living out of the truths of the Catholic faith, promoting the protection of life from conception to natural death, offering themselves in service to the integral dignity of the person, and setting forth the values of fraternity, justice and solidarity.”
Praying the Rosary before Vigil Mass
Join us at 5:30pm on Saturdays.
We hope you will find some – or all! – of the above of interest, and if you have any questions or would like to learn more about devotions to Mary, please email EnglishMartyrsMarianMission@PortsmouthDiocese.org.uk
